ABOUT THE OWNERS

Hello this is Damian and Brendan. We use to live in London, Damian worked as a civil servant, Brendan as an Occupational Therapist. We had our first holiday in the Dordogne in 2010. Brendan had been reading about the cave paintings at Lascaux and was keen to visit. What we discovered by chance was one of the most fun and interesting parts of France. We both enjoyed dining out at restaurants, visiting markets in historic bastide towns, canoeing, wine tasting,  having picnics following country walks. Brendan found a new interest in astronomy from looking up at the stars in the night sky. We loved the region so much we visited almost every year since, which we regarded as our second home from our busy lives in London. We became good friends with our hosts who we stayed with each year. We decided in January 2019 that we would make the move permanently. Although we did not get here until October 2021 due to travel restrictions. We flew into France on 2nd October to stay with our friends. We were prepared to be searching for several months to find a home. However, after visiting Moulin Latour, its grounds and house on 3rd October we made an offer to buy which was accepted that day.   We were very excited to buy the Mill and its adjacent house in Sainte Alvère, one of our favourite villages. We moved into the Mill on 31st December 2021 and had our New Years Eve/house warming party there. We are now in the process of redecorating the mill to get ready for guests in the summer.  We know the area really well having visiting over this many years and are happy to provide ideas for places to visit and things to do.
